About Us

Our History

In the early 1980s, Bob Hogan entered the McDonald’s Registered Applicant Program with one goal: to become a licensed Owner/Operator. Before joining the program, Bob worked as a prosecutor for the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office and ran a local pub and eatery in Watertown, MA. Inspired by the opportunity to combine his entrepreneurial spirit with a trusted brand, Bob opened his first McDonald’s restaurant in North Hampton, NH, in 1985.

Bob's son, Rich, joined the business after transitioning from a career on Wall Street. In 2014, Rich completed the McDonald's Next Generation training program and became a licensed Owner-Operator. He actively leads the organization and takes pride in contributing to the greater McDonald's system. Today, the organization has 23 restaurants across two states in New England.

Although Bob has retired, his legacy lives on. Taking good care of our people will always remain the heartbeat of everything at Hogan Family McDonald's. The Hogan Family is grateful for the talented and passionate leaders who make up the team.
